Den ægyptiske dommer Den skændede pyramide

Pazir er en ung retskaffen dommer i en sydlig provins, tilfreds med sit embede og livet på landet. Han kaldes til rigets hovedstad, Memfis, for at bestride et nyt dommerembede og opdager ved et tilfælde en række mystiske mord på æresvagterne ved den mægtige Kheops-pyramide.

Men da han begynder at undersøge, hvad der egentlig skete den nat ved pyramiden, hvirvles han hurtigt ind i et komplot så omfattende, at det truer med at vælte Ramses II af tronen.
